An Exciting Announcement

Posted on by Venita Ballard

There was a time when Youth for Christ Chattanooga was trying to find it's way.  There was a time when we were unsure how we were going to provide for the expenses of our ministry.  There was a time when we had only a small team of leaders who were in relationship with just a few students.  Now, after a year of really hard work, God has brought YFC Chattanooga into a new time.

Today we are excited to report that, with the help of so many of you, we are at a place of complete fiscal sustainability, we have a hard-working and growing Advisory Board that is casting a vision for the city. We have broadened our ministry focus from a single school to an entire community, mobilizing an empowered team of adults to engage dozens of lost kids on a weekly basis in relationship through our City Life ministry.  God has been so faithful to us and we can now say with confidence that we are positioned to grow Youth for Christ ministry in Chattanooga!

After much prayer and planning, we believe that, in order to truly engage in a strategy to reach more lost, 11-19 year olds in Chattanooga, we need to increase our executive leadership capacity.  We are truly humbled and excited to announce that, in early 2018, we will be beginning our search to hire an Executive Director for Youth for Christ Chattanooga!

Over the next few months, our work will be to build upon our foundation and scale our finances to prepare for this exciting new move.  Our goal in the coming months is to increase our financial reserves by $20,000 in order to position ourselves to pursue Executive Director candidates based on their experience and qualifications rather then their immediate ability to raise the necessary funds.  We recognize that this is a big number; but we also recognize that there are thousands of lost kids in our city that need the hope of Jesus so we are moving ahead with confidence knowing that God is our provider.

So How Can You Help?

In the coming months you will be given a ton of opportunities to pray for us and engage financially, as you are able, towards the goal of $20,000.  You will receive some emails, we will be out in the community buying people coffee and having conversations, we will be visiting local churches, and we will even be holding small 'See The Story' events at people's houses.

Many of you may be ready to jump right in; maybe you understand the vision and the mission that God is calling YFC to in the city and you are excited to invest in that work.  If that's you, then feel free to click on the button below.  Others of you may have questions or want to hear more.  We welcome the conversation and can't wait to share more about what God is doing in the city through Youth for Christ.  Please reach out to Katie Williams or a member of our Advisory Board and we'll get a time on the calendar.
We are so thankful for God's faithfulness and for your partnership.
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28
